Privacy Policy

Welcome to FileBolt. We understand that privacy is critical to you. This Privacy Policy is intended to explain how we collect, use, and protect your information. As a platform dedicated to secure file transfer, we strictly adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant laws and regulations.

1. Information We Collect

We follow the principle of "Data Minimization" and only collect data absolutely necessary to provide the service:

  • Subscription Information: When you subscribe, we only collect your email address. This is used to verify subscription benefits, send one-time login links, and billing notifications. We do not offer a traditional account registration system, nor do we collect your name, phone number, or physical address.
  • Uploaded Files: The files you upload are used solely for transfer purposes. Files are stored in highly encrypted enterprise-grade cloud storage.
  • Necessary Cookies: We use only technically necessary cookies to maintain your login session (if applicable) and language preferences. We do not use advertising tracking cookies.
  • Payment Data: All transactions are processed by PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). FileBolt does not touch or store your credit card information.

2. Core Privacy Commitments & Security

To ensure your data security, we enforce the following core policies:

  • No-Logs Policy: We never record your browsing history, IP address, or file download behavior. Your digital footprint will not be tracked.
  • Zero-Snooping Pledge: We do not view, scan, analyze, or AI-process your file content. Your files belong to you; we act only as a transfer conduit.
  • End-to-End Encryption Standards: Your files are rigorously encrypted during transmission (using TLS/SSL) and at rest (using AES-256 standard).
  • Auto-Destruction Mechanism: Files are automatically and permanently deleted from servers after expiration (3, 7, 15, 30, or 60 days depending on your plan). This process is irreversible, even by us.

3. Data Storage & Cross-Border Transfer

FileBolt utilizes globally distributed cloud infrastructure to provide high-speed services:

  • Data Storage Location: To optimize speed, your encrypted files may be stored in the secure data center node closest to you.
  • Cross-Border Transfer: As a global service, your data may be processed outside your country/region. We ensure all data transfers comply with GDPR requirements and rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to safeguard data during cross-border transfers.

4. Your Rights

Under GDPR and other privacy laws, you have the following rights:

  • Manage Subscription: You can manage your subscription status or update your billing email at any time in settings.
  • Cancel Subscription: You can cancel your paid subscription at any time; your benefits will remain valid until the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Right to Erasure: If you stop subscribing or using the service, your related data will be automatically cleared after the retention period ends. File data is physically destroyed immediately upon expiration.
  • Access & Correction: Although we collect minimal data, you have the right to request access to the information we hold about you and request corrections.

5. Third-Party Service Disclosure

We share minimal data only with trusted third parties necessary to maintain service operations:

  • Infrastructure Providers: For hosting website code and encrypted file storage.
  • Payment Processors: For processing subscription payments (e.g., Stripe).
  • Legal Compliance: Unless required by mandatory law (such as a valid court order), we either have no data to provide (due to no logs) or will refuse to disclose user information.

6. Children's Privacy

This service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via website announcements or email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
